Why do some of the FitLine products: like Activize or PowerCocktail, contain ‘caffeine’?
Some FitLine products contain natural caffeine physiologically bound to the tannins in Guarana, which is very well tolerated because it stimulates lipometabolism and maintains the glycogen muscle reserves against repletion where intensive sporting activities are pursued. The bound form of the substance thus reduces any maximum increase in caffeine concentration. This is in contrast to free caffeine found in black tea, coffee, and other soft-drink beverages.
Scientific studies
Scientific studies often detect a nutrient deficiency in performance athletes. However, leisure athletes are often more affected than top-performance athletes as their body is less well adapted to the high demands (e.g. losses through perspiration).
A placebo-controlled double-blind study including these two groups was conducted. 20 leisure and elite athletes were randomly divided into 2 groups. The first group was given a teaspoon of FitLine Activize Oxyplus 3 times a day for 7 days, then a break of 3 days and a placebo for the following 7 days. The second group was given a placebo for 7 days, then a break of 3 days, and FitLine Activize Oxyplus 3 times a day for the following 7 days. The participants were not told what drinks were given on a given day.
The results showed that more oxygen is available to the body for both groups (with maximum oxygen intake capacity increased by 10%) and better performance with running speed increased on average by 28%!
